Paris

I love this city so much. The excitement I feel when I'm there remains unchanged from when I first visited Paris five years ago. Yes, the cliché reasons exist: the architecture etc.. but I find excitement in exploring the city to find hidden ( and sometimes not so hidden) treasures.

I was expecting lovely fall-like weather but Europe had an indian summer and temps were above 27 degrees Celsius daily. I was kicking myself for not bringing more versatile clothes. I always check the weather forecast before I go and there was nothing that indicated summer temperatures.

I'll write more again but I just wanted to post some pictures.

Back on the island

I've just arrived back home on Maui. I'm pretty exhausted from all the flyiing. The trip to and from Europe seems longer than it is because from here it requires more than one layover.

I really wanted to post pictures while I was gone but between being out all day and then having internet but being tired at night, I just couldn't. So I will write a post tomorrow, pictures included. I had a great time and learned not to expect much, go with the flow and some things are meant to be and some you shouldn't change.

Until tomorrow...

Thrilled

I'm beyond excited to be going to Europe in three days. 3 days!! Proof of my excitement is the fact that I've been 90% packed since Sunday.

I'm not at all fond of packing last minute unless it's traveling from one place to another in which case everything's already been packed so it's just a matter of reissuing it. I notice that I improve over time in how and what I pack. It's much easier I think when you're required to carry on your luggage. Anyway, two weeks and a fairly small suitcase. The last time I was in Europe in March I wore and used everything I brought which was a relief.
This time I hope to do the same:)

My first stop is Paris. I'm hoping to visit Belgium and maybe London.

Since I wasn't able to post pictures from my past trip, I'll post a few of my last European adventure.

More Maui

So you know that problem I had with my laptop and my attempts at mobile blogging via email? Well the answer was right in the App store: download the Blogger app! What a relief. Plus it's super easy. Now I can blog from my iPhone whether or not my laptop decides to work. Although that issue will need to be resolved somehow.

Anyway, here are some of many pictures I've taken from my iPhone over the last few months. Hope you like them as much as I do:)

Oh, and on a different note. As of yesterday it is two weeks till I leave for Europe. With the first stop being Paris. I can't wait to blog from there with this handy dandy app!

Pictures!

My laptop finally cooperated. There were as many pictures as I hoped but this is likely because I take more photos with my iPhone. I'm still trying to figure out mobile uploading but till then I'll email to myself and upload via my laptop.

Hope you enjoy there!

A little update

Hey all, so sorry that I haven't posted pictures. My laptop isn't cooperating (but I also haven't tried to turn it on in several days knowing I'll be heartbroken when it shuts down on me). I'd love to post pictures from my mobile phone and although I've made an address to email I still haven't figured it out. In my defense, I tried once and it didn't work. Must try again ASAP.

In other news, I have a small idea of my future plans which has taken a huge amount of anxiety off my shoulders. As of yesterday my plans are set to go to Europe for two weeks beginning at the end of this month. I'm beyond excited! My future rests a lot on this trip so I must do my best to achieve my goals.

I'll be flying in and out of Paris and I'll most likely visit somewhere else besides Paris -London/Belgium/Switzerland. Yes, the end of September into the beginning of October means it's fashion week in Paris. Such an exciting time. I was there for work in March and it was amazing.

Will update more soon. And I really need to get some pictures up here because like you guys I'm tired of NOT having pictures in these last couple posts.

August is gone and for most of us that means that summer is fading away. But alas, my favorite season-autumn- is on its way. Granted, it doesn't feel at all like the end of summer here on Maui but I'll have my share of autumn soon enough :)

Maui Love

Again, another couple weeks of not writing. I'm so bad. I've been trying to enjoy all that Maui has to offer now that I have a mode of transportation- a used car bought from a friend that moved to the mainland.

I have yet to go surfing even though it's been over three months since I've been here but I think I'll be going soon. Otherwise, I've been going to the beach often, a couple hikes, relaxing at home where it's nice and cool and meeting friends.

There are so many things about growing up on Maui that I've taken for granted and I don't want to do that anymore. So everyday I focus on what I'm grateful for. Maui and my home have allowed me to heal and rejuvenate in so many ways (many of which are probably not obvious to me yet). I know that it will be here whenever I want to come back. Which is why lately I feel a bit antsy to go somewhere/

I have goals and ambitions that are beyond Maui. I have a strong desire to live elsehwere and continue the work I was doing in Japan. However, I deeply feel that I am content with no longer living in Japan and have my eyes set on Europe. I'm hoping for the best. I will need to be a stronger and more courageous person than ever before but I have no doubt that things will work out. I just need to believe in myself and be who I am.

I can owe much of this strength to Maui and the love, inspiration, power and security it has provided. I will keep this with me wherever I go.

I will try to post pictures of my Maui adventures. My own laptop is still acting up so I hope I can do it do very soon.

Hope every one of you has a place in which you can call home and can gain everything you desire from it so that you too can pursue your dreams.
